Our Mission is to unravel the complex ways in which social factors like race and socioeconomic status influence our neural function and health. Our current research explores how our brain’s neural networks interact with the immune system, and how these interactions are shaped by social disparities. This work is not just about understanding these connections but about making a tangible difference in addressing health inequities.
The Neuroscience for Health Equity Lab is housed within the Biological-Health and Social Area within the Department of Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh. The research that we do in our lab is at the intersection of social psychology and neuroscience, which offers unique opportunities for you to learn about the many different options for engaging in human research.
